When it was announced that James Gunn would be taking on the next installment in DC's Suicide Squad, fans had mixed feelings about the new project. 2016's Suicide Squad was met with poor critiques, although lead by fan-favorites such as Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. But now, Gunn has shared a photo of his storyboard for The Suicide Squad, and it might change fans minds about the upcoming movie.

Post-production is currently under way for the movie and Gunn is psyched, so much so that he had to express his feelings about his new project to fans on social media.

Gunn is known for sharing behind-the-scenes looks into his movies, posting teases for his Marvel films Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2 on social, so The Suicide Squad should be no different. Fans got a glimpse of Gunn's storyboard when the director posted a picture of it on his Instagram Story.

Despite not a whole lot known about the reboot, the cast has been the topic of conversation for some time now. Jai Courtney and Viola Davis are believed to have signed on to reprise their roles as Captain Boomerang and Amanda Waller, respectively. Idris Elba is reportedly joining as a disclosed role. It was also reported that Gunn will introduce some new, lesser known DC characters to form the team.

Gunn made the journey over to DC after Marvel fired him from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but he has since been reassigned after his cast and fans fought for his return. The director is focusing on The Suicide Squad first, and then plans to start work on Guardians 3.

The Suicide Squad does not have a release date yet.
