Friends fans new and old were over the moon when it was announced that HBO Max would be releasing an unscripted reunion special featuring the show's six main cast members—Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer. The show's executive producers David Crane and Marta Kauffman are also joining to reminisce and answer questions about the show's ten-year run.

The special was even going to film on the original Friends soundstage on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, however, it was reported in March that production had been delayed due to rising concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

It was believed the special would premiere alongside the launch of HBO Max in May, with the streaming platform also to be the exclusive keeper of all 10 seasons of the series, but Variety now confirms that it will not be available when the service debuts. This is, of course, because of the delays. However, all ten seasons of the series will still be available to watch.

HBO Max is set to not only includes Friends, but also various WarnerMedia programs like The Big Bang Theory, along with other HBO series and films. Until the reunion special is released, fans can rewatch the beloved show to relive their favorite moments when the streaming service comes out next month.
