Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s hit song “Side to Side” has a sexy reggae-pop vibe that really gets anyone in the mood to sway. While the song is a big hit, it's allegedly a rip-off of another song created by Christopher R. O’Connor.

O’Connor is filing a lawsuit against the song, claiming the company UMG Recordings discovered his song, “J5 (T6)” found on Soundcloud, and got Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj to copy it.

O’Connor told TMZ he reached out to the company about the alleged copyright violation and was told to send in a demo of his track. However, the company claimed they did not steal anything from him.

This isn’t the only song he believes the company has stolen. He claims UMG has found more of his songs online and has used them to produce other copies by artists such as Mike Shinoda and Taylor Swift.

As for UMG Recordings, they haven't made any statements regarding the situation. Here is O'Connor's track. Do you think Ariana and Nicki stole it?
