The Force Awakens director sat down with The Independent to talk Cloverfield Paradox, new movies, and possible Star Wars details. He’s been working on Episode IX after taking the helm from Colin Trevorrow.
Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, was fired by Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, following information that he “had been difficult to work with, according to insiders, and a combination of Trevorrow's attitude, script issues, and the critical and financial failure of Trevorrow's The Book of Henry reportedly lead to his firing.”
When Abrams was asked if he's excited to return to Star Wars, he said "very much," adding, "I'm actually going to be leaving this room and going right there. I can't wait for you to see what we're doing." Show us then, Abrams!
There’s no word on how much of Trevorrow’s original plans are left in the movie, but Abrams was tight lipped, so we’ll have to wait and see when the movie comes out.
