Star Trek is one of the most popular sci-fi franchises of all time! The franchise has recently found great success with reboot films directed by J.J. Abrams, and a new series, "Star Trek: Discovery". This has breathed new life into the franchise, and brought in many new fans. Now it looks like one of Hollywood's biggest names is possibly working with J.J. Abrams on an upcoming film!
A report by the Hollywood Reporter has come out, stating Quentin Tarantino is working with J.J. Abrams on a new Star Trek film!
The two have begun working together, and plan on putting together a writers room for the film. Paramount had no comment on the story, perhaps not ready to confirm or deny the production of such a film.
Tarantino is a big fan of the original Star Trek series, even saying he'd prefer to direct Star Trek over Star Wars.
"The only thing that limited them was their '60s budget and eight-day shooting schedule," he said.
"You could take some of the classic Star Trek episodes and easily expand them to 90 minutes or more and really do some amazing, amazing stuff."
Looks like Star Trek fans could be getting a fantastic new film somewhere down the line. What a time to be a fan of sci-fi!
