'Star Wars' actress Daisy Ridley shocked us all last week when she said she would not return for any other films in the franchise. Like, break our hearts why don't you?!
“I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it’s three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out.”
Well now, the actress is clarifying exactly what she meant by those comments.
'Entertainment Tonight' caught up with her, and naturally asked her about it.
“That was end of a very long day, at the end of a very long shoot. It was pouring down rain in Montreal,” Ridley began, explaining where she was at when she gave those comments.
“We were talking about where the trilogy was going and… all I said was as far as I was concerned, when I signed on, I was signing onto [episodes] seven, eight and nine," she continued.
Also, while speaking to the Press Association, she did make a clearer statement, saying,
“When I did sign up I did sign up for three films… And that’s where I sort of saw the story ending, JJ (Abrams, The Force Awakens director) said the same thing. I think everyone has perhaps taken that as me going, ‘I don’t want anything to do with it’ which is vastly untrue because this is awesome.”
So what is she saying? We think she means she has only signed on for the three films, but would be open to more? It doesn't seem like she is saying it will never happen, thankfully.
