ZOOEYMAMA! The trailer for Avengers 3 came out today, and after the Vanity Fair article with accompanying cool as hell covers, hoo boy. Is this trailer carrying out some major hype or what? No? Just me? Well, we're going to take a look at it anyway. I'm very disappointed in you for not being hype, you've cut me deep.
5. The Tesseract and Loki
The "comic book movie plot-cube of power" was first put into place by the first Transformers and was most recently used by Justice League, yet seeing Loki with this cube is very telling. In Thor Ragnarok, we see Loki is forcefully taught a lesson by Thor about never changing his trickster ways, and through this he chooses to join the fight against Hela. With this slight change in his character, will he still use the tessaract, his one true love, for selfish causes or for the safety of others? Who knows and who cares, that thing can't stop Thanos anyway.
4. The Spidey-Sense
I know, looking at Peter Parker's arm hair was probably not as interesting as him taking on Thanos alone. I know, you're thinking "why are you into this kid's arm hair?" Spiderman Homecoming has a severe lack of the Spidey-Sense, so this gives Spiderman more to work with than simply a low-level of super strength, wall crawling, and home-made webbing technology. This sense has saved Spiderman's behind more times than anybody can count, it could mean the difference between life and death for the character.
3. Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet
We see here our main man with purple skin, and he's got the glove; big whoop. What truly matters is the fact that he has two infinity stones, one that resides in the tesseract and the other that is held by the Nova force after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy. With this, combined with the images of him pulling the stone out of the Vision's forehead, it very well could mean that Thanos could kill Loki, Vision, and the entirety of the Nova force. Two stones could mean the life or death of everyone in the MCU, and while this is unlikely, it certainly ups the stakes quite a bit.
2. Thor Finally Meets the Guardians of the Galaxy
Hinted at the end of Thor Ragnarok, Thor crosses paths with Guardians of the Galaxy. While anyone with half a brain would have understood that Thor becoming a space pirate equivalent means he's going to meet up with Star-Lord and friends, this is still an incredibly exciting premise. Also, Groot is now a teenager. Hjinx will undoubtedly ensue.
