Just as everyone is showing gratitude for their exes and blasting Ariana Grande’s new single “thank u, next,” the pop star hits another milestone. Billboard announced Tuesday that Grande will be named Billboard’s 2018 Woman of the Year.

Grande will be presented with the award at the Billboard Women in Music dinner and awards gala in New York on Dec. 6. Grande joins an impressive list of artists who have won this award, including Lady Gaga, Madonna, Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez.

Grande reacted Tuesday morning on Twitter to the news that she had won the award.

At age 25, Grande has held the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart three times. Most recently, her album "Sweetener" topped the charts and helped her score the largest streaming week ever for a pop album by a female artist.

Billboard stated that Grande won the award not only for her music, but also her activism. After the bombing outside her concert at Manchester Arena, Grande helped organize the One Love Manchester benefit concert, which raised $23 million.

This has been a good week for Grande, as her new single “thank u, next” is blowing up the charts. The song, released only on Saturday, claimed the number one spot on Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits playlist on both Monday and Tuesday. The bop also hit number one on the U.S. Apple Music Streaming Chart and became the first and only pop song of 2018 to reach the top of the chart, according to PopCrush.

On Wednesday, she will perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. We can't wait to see her perform "thank u, next" live.
