When director James Gunn was fired by Disney from his presumed director role on 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' he had no more vocal a supporter than wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista, who immediately took to Twitter to defend Gunn and loudly complain about the studio politics that led to the decision.

So, nobody was more overjoyed than the former World Heavyweight Champion when the news broke that Gunn had apparently been handed the reins of Warner Bros.'s 'Suicide Squad 2.' Described as a completely separate entity from David Ayer's 2016 shrug of a film, Gunn has been hired to write the script and may be added as the director.

Bautista shared the story on his Twitter feed and captioned the post, "Where do I sign up!" He is currently under contract with Disney to appear in the as-yet untitled 'Avengers 4' and may still be attached to 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' however, Bautista might be able to work out a loophole in his contract to appear in other studios' films.

If he can, there are a number of characters Bautista could viably play. 'Suicide Squad' is about a team of villains who are forced by to do the government's dirty work, so while he may be restricted to larger antagonist roles due to his bulky frame, he could still be Mongul, Bane, Gorilla Grodd, Solomon Grundy, Parasite, Lobo, Despero, Ultra-Humanite, Clayface, King Shark, or the General.
