Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed further information about the media conglomerate's upcoming streaming service last month. The company is focusing heavily on the service, Disney Play, over the course of the next year.

One of the major attractions for the service will be the new live-action Star Wars television series. Reports are now coming out that the series is set to begin production as early as next week.

According to Making Star Wars, the series — which has yet to be named — will begin filming next week in "coastal" locations.

Making Star Wars also shared a handful of pictures from set, which appear to show a sandy location.

Along with revealing the first set photos of this new television series — which will be written and directed by Jon Favreau, seen in a few of the the set pictures — the fan website also released some potential plot details.

The show is reportedly set to feature the lives of Mandalorians after the fall of the Empire almost seven years after the events of Return of the Jedi. Fans are looking forward to see the people of Mandalore's story be told.

We cannot wait for both the series and Disney Play. The show is slated to be one of the most expensive ever, with one season costing $100 million. Hopefully, the hefty budget will mean some awesome storytelling.
