In the dangerous world of HBO's fantasy epic 'Game of Thrones,' there is no more wily or human a character than the imp, Tyrion Lannister. Over the course of the show's seven seasons, he has proven himself to be a worthy player of the game and a cunning, deadly opponent to his enemies.

Currently, Tyrion is serving as Hand of the Queen to Daenerys Targaryen as she wages war against the White Walkers and his own family. However, with the eighth and final season coming soon, fans have begun to speculate that Tyrion might put his political prowess to work and somehow betray Daenerys.

There is some evidence to support this theory. For one thing, despite the barbaric way his family treated him in the past, Tyrion is still proud to call himself a Lannister. With his sister Cersei currently sitting the iron throne, Tyrion might be swayed to side with her to protect his family's power and legacy.

Most fan agree, however, that this theory doesn't hold any water. Daenerys and her allies have been nothing but fair to Tyrion and he has already advised her to the best of his ability, indicating that he is truly devoted to her. But things are almost never what they seem in Westeros, so it's impossible to say for sure.
