Ariana Grande just dropped her latest album Sweetener, but more importantly, she dropped a big fact that's got us all questioning everything: we've been pronouncing her name wrong.

During an interview with Beats 1, Ariana was talking about her engagement to Pete Davidson, and revealed that she'd be open to a hyphenated last name, Grande-Davidson. However, she said that she probably wouldn't change her professional name. Though she said she might just go by Ariana, she quickly backtracked and said she wants to keep Grande for her grandfather.

But wait! She pronounced it Gran-DEE (0:40). WHAT?

Apparently, Ariana's brother Frankie changed the pronunciation to Gran-DAY. "My grandpa said Gran-DEE. Gran-DEE was kind of the Americanized version of it, made it more chill," she explained. "And then my brother was like, we should say Gran-DAY. It's so fun to say it. It's a funny name. I grew up saying Gran-DEE and I think of [my grandpa] and I wish I said Gran-DEE more."

She then poked fun at her super Italian name. "Literally, my name is like 'Ariana Grande-Butera!,'" she said in a thick Italian accent. "Literally, that's my name. I'm like a pizza. I'm a f**king meatball." We like Gran-DEE, but it'll take a while to get used to... We might just stick with Gran-DAY.
