Although it's been nearly four months since Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters and tore our hearts out, we're still not completely over Thanos' snap and the demise of some of our favorite fictional characters of all time.
However, fans have found solace in the more than likely theory that Avengers 4 will use time travel to bring back the beloved heroes. And when Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed was asked about the possibility, he confirmed it could be true.
“Based on the science that we’ve set up in the first movie and this one, I won’t rule out the possibility,” Reed shared with The Huffington Post. “Because, again, we are dealing with a time vortex. That could happen.”
“I have to be careful here, as you well know," Reed added.
In the Ant-Man sequel, Scott Lang shrinks down to explore the Quantum Realm, but is warned to avoid time vortexes. Although this element isn't spoken about further, fans have obviously taken it as confirmation that time travel will play into the franchise moving further.
There are many theories as to how Earth's Mightiest Heroes will return from the dead, with another popular one being Doctor Strange's magic reviving them. We're banking on time travel, but we'll have to wait until April 2019 when the next Avengers installment comes out to know for sure!
