Stranger Things has definitely brought out water works in fans, as both heart to heart moments and death is plentiful throughout both seasons. One death, however, from the start of the series, was especially devastating.

After Barb's horrifying death in Season 1, vocal fans took to Twitter and created the #JusticeForBarb campaign and the writers took notice.

Barbara Holland was Nancy Wheeler's best friend and also acted as her conscience. When Nancy was obsessed with Steve Harrington, Barb tried to talk sense into her, and was instead yelled at and embarrassedBarb was left alone by the pool with a cut hand (from trying to shotgun a beer) and the Demogorgon came for her.

During a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producer Shawn Levy revealed the writers briefly considered reviving Barb for Season 2 to appease angry fans, but decided they knew better.

"When it's about what people think they want, you have to trust that you know a little bit better," Levy explained. "In the case of Barb, I'm not going to lie, we spent maybe 20 seconds talking about it — notwithstanding the slug of death that was coming out of her mouth in the nether."

Instead of any supernatural resurrection, fans were given closure over Barb's death. She was given a proper funeral, and a full storyline was devoted to Nancy and Jonathan meeting with a private investigator and searching for answers surrounding Barb's disappearance.

While Barb was never brought to full justice, it's cool to know the writers do care about the opinions of fans and even considered such a change to the storyline. Stranger Things returns with Season 3 in 2019!
