Game of Thrones is coming back with their eighth and final season and we literally can not wait. Every fan is dying to know what happens and who will sit on the iron throne, so of course, HBO is upping their security to prevent any leaks.
Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry on the show, discussed the precautions being taken in an interview with Metro. He shared that they have upped the “security in terms of plot and scripts and any information pertaining to where we might be shooting at any given time."
“During the whole course of season seven and season eight, I have never laid eyes on a shooting schedule," he revealed. "Your filming dates are on a need to know basis. You don’t get hard copies of scripts anymore. They are all on this special app. Which are triple locked. The level of security has upped massively.”
But the show is not only being protected from leaks, as the actors themselves are being kept in the dark. HBO’s President of Original Programming, Casey Bloys, shared that nobody knows the ending of the show.
“I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens,” he said. “You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”
Apparently, they are also putting up large walls around sets so nobody can even sneak a peek inside. We guess we really won't be getting any spoilers, so we'll be patiently waiting until 2019 when Game of Thrones returns.
