For as popular a show as Game of Thrones is, it can't be denied the series is full of some pretty questionable actions including slavery, murder, zombies, gratuitous nudity, and now two incestuous relationships.
Speaking with Variety, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who portrays Jaime Lannister), stated he believes the most shocking moments are "what the show's been good at," though sometimes questions if the shock can be "too big."
"For me there's two moments that stand out," he revealed. "Shireen being burned at the stake I thought was just cruel. I mean it made sense story-wise and I understand why they did it. But I just couldn't watch it and it was difficult to even read it."
The second moment that stuck with him for being particularly disturbing was "when [Robin Arryn] was still being breastfed when he was 7."
"It was so weird and wrong on every level," he thought.
"The beauty of it, it made sense," he continued. "Even the most extreme things are driven by story, and I think up to this point in the show, up to the final season you're reaping the rewards of the work that's been put into all these characters."
What surprisingly didn't make the list, however; was the time he forced himself on his sister at their incestuous son's funeral, or when Oberyn's eyes were squeezed out of his head by the Mountain.
He also confirmed he's almost done filming the final season of the show, stating that he's "going back to Belfast next week."
"I'm not 100% done," he says, "but I've shot the last scene with me."
The final season of HBO's Game of Thrones premieres in 2019.
