We've been waiting for over a decade for the second installment of Incredibles, but will it be all we've hoped for? Or have we hyped it up too much?

Well, according to recent reviews, it's exactly what we've been waiting for. Already gaining a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, critics say that director Brad Bird not only recaptured the magic from the first film, but brought something new and exciting to the sequel.

According to The Wrap

“This continuation is a similarly rousing and savvy adventure that energetically serves up more of what we love — from the sleek retro-futurist designs to the ticklishly severe Eurasian super-clothier Edna Mode — and yet wisely, wittily, reverses the first film’s accommodating traditionalism to make for an even richer, funnier portrait of its tight and in-tights family.”

Many have been concerned an animated superhero film won't be able to succeed in a market already filled with real-life action and CGI, but Vulture seems to disagree.

They write that the sequel is “much like its predecessor, delightful as an animated feature but really, really delightful as a superhero picture. It’s proof that someone (not anyone, mainly Bird) can make a Marvel-type movie that’s fleet and shapely, with action sequences rich in style rather than tumult.”

Some critics, however, did not enjoy the film as much. They accuse the sequel of being overdone or nothing new from the original. But if Incredibles 2 really offers nothing new from the first film, that sounds great. After all, Incredibles was perfect.

Incredibles 2 hits theaters on Friday. If you haven't already, you can watch the trailer below:
