Dakota Johnson is a criminal on the run with her sister, Cynthia Erivo is a down on her luck singer, Jeff Bridges is not a priest but dressed like one, and Jon Hamm is a salesman finding himself lost in a hallway with windows into each of their rooms at hotel El Royale.

Oh, and did I mention there's a shirtless Chris Hemsworth somewhere in here- though don't go swooning, he's a charismatic cult leader and they should be getting as far away from him as possible.

The trailer for Bad Times at the El Royale dropped this week and the movie certainly has the creepy, more-to-it-than-meets-the-eye factor. With Drew Goddard as both writer and director of this horror-mystery, audiences can expect a well-written story and a glimpse of Goddard's directing.

Drew Goddard

If you're wondering why the name Drew Goddard sounds familiar as of late, that's because he's set to write and direct X-Force, the next mutant film project that will be featuring the likes of Deadpool, Domino, and Cable. Other than that, Goddard's writing credits include Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods, and The Martian. That's pretty impressive.

The upcoming Bad Times at the El Royale looks to be one of those films we'll learn more of closer to its release date on October 5th, but for now, we're left to wonder who is watching the hotel guests and why? What roles will Nick Offerman, Russell Crowe, and Mark O'Brien play? Most importantly, what's Chris Hemsworth's character up to and why is he shimmying in such a creepy manner?
