With the death of their entire future franchise at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it's pretty much assumed at this point the original Avengers team will have to figure out how to go back in time to reverse Thanos wiping out half of all life in the universe.

New set photos from Avengers 4 feature stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki), in their original outfits from the first Avengers film, and even Mark Ruffalo in a full CGI body suit.

With Loki killed at the very beginning of Infinity War, and Banner unable to turn back into the Hulk, it was assumed this scene had to be a flashback, if not confirming the time traveling theory, but appearances of Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and a grey-haired Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), have led fans to think the two traveled back in time to learn how to stop Thanos.

The gang has also been spotted sharing some kind of watch, which could be the source of their time traveling abilities.

In the new photos, it seems almost certain the scene isn't a flashback, as Downey Jr. can be seen wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform, which he wasn't wearing in The Avengers. The tweet releasing the newly leaked photos remarks, "this has to be time travel and not a flashback because there are two Tonys in the same place??"

This would suggest Tony goes back in time with Ant-Man to either interact with the original heroes, or disguise themselves as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and don their original costumes.

While we're all dying to find out what happens in Avengers 4, the information won't come out of the directors' or writers' mouths, as the film is going to be kept under tight secrecy until its premiere on May 3rd, 2019.
