When Thanos snaps his mighty fingers at the end of Avengers: Infinity War it's a pretty well known spoiler at the point that the Infinity Gauntlet shatters as he uses the might of all six Infinity Stones to kill half of all life in the universe.

Not every MCU character appeared in Infinity War however, with mainstays such as Hawkeye and Ant-Man not even a second of time onscreen. Answers may be a year away, but speaking with Huffington Post last week, directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed some information about the supporting characters and who may or may not have turned into dust.

Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) are said to have "a very interesting story" come Avengers 4, with Ant-Man about to get his pre-Infinity War sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp up next on the Marvel calendar, so it's safe to say they're both okay. They've also both been seen on set for the filming of Avengers 4, with Hawkeye wearing some new shin guards reminiscent of his character's New Avengers transformation.

Black Panther additions Shuri (Letita Wright) and Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o) have completely "spoiler" filled statuses however, with Joe Russo unable to comment on Shuri's status, and Nakia seemingly safe, "deep undercover... on missions."

Jane Foster, the Thor love interest played by Natalie Portman in the first two Thor films, is apparently also a secret as to whether she's safe, with the Russo Brothers stating, "When we say spoiler, [we mean] potential spoiler." Rumors have begun circulating that her potential return to the MCU could ignite a new Thor.

Another Thor character absent from both Infinity War and Ragnarok due to filming obligations was Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) who stars in Blindspot. "Gone," said Joe Russo, with the character not set to appear in Avengers 4 either.

Although Spider-Man has disappeared in Tony Stark's arms, little was known about his supporting characters either, with his friend Ned (Jacob Batalon)'s fate also a "spoiler," though Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) is "safe." Tomei probably won't appear again until the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, but at least she didn't also turn into a pile of ash.

Howard the Duck (Seth Green), a Marvel character cameo from the Guardians of the Galaxy end credits scene is also safe, but Asgardian actor Matt Damon "did not survive," as well as Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), Hulk's love interest from the Edward Norton Hulk film before Mark Ruffalo took over Hulk duties. There also exists spoilers for Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, and Ragnarok's Korg, portrayed by director Taika Waititi.

We'll know for sure what happens to all of our favorite heroes when it all wraps up in Avengers 4 on May 3rd, 2019.
