The Avengers are coming back soon, and there has been news that after Infinity War, the original heroes will no longer have feature films. Instead, the next generation of heroes (Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and so on), will be featured. Things are changing, and the actors in the franchise are looking towards the future.
For the role of Captain America, Sebastian Stan is ready to take on the part. Stan plays the Winter Soldier in the film series, but in the comics, his character does take on the role of Captain America. So will fans see that baton pass? Or rather, that shield pass?
At a panel at Wizard World St. Louis, the actor was asked if he would like to see Bucky take on the hero at some point. "I mean, yeah I would love that one day, absolutely," Stan said.
"I don't know when that day would be, and I just think...it would be a very different Captain America you know, you wouldn't be able to have the same Captain America as you have right now because he's a different guy. Again, there's this issue where we've got to get him to be trustworthy enough for them to give him that responsibility, you know, to fill those shoes, and those are hard shoes to fill. So I think it's possible, I really do, but it just has to make sense and we might need a little more time."
It sounds like an interesting idea for him to take on the role, but right now Evans is holding on to the shield. Maybe at some point fans will see the original hero pass on his role to someone else, and if so, Stan is ready!
